Dr. Wayne Harrell

Senior Pastor

Pastor Wayne is a Florida native who grew up in the Davenport area. Wayne met and fell in love with his wife Jamie at Eastside Baptist Church in Haines City. Pastor Wayne proposed in front of the entire church on a Sunday morning after the worship service and they have been married for over 20 years.

In 1998, Pastor Wayne was ordained to ministry at Eastside Baptist Church. He has served churches in South Carolina and Florida as a student and music minister before being called as senior pastor of First Baptist Poinciana.

Pastor Wayne holds Biblical Studies and Theology degrees from Andersonville Baptist Theological

Seminary, as well as a Doctorate in Ministry. He also holds continuing education certificates from Harvard, Duke, ABPQA, and the International Business Management Institute. He has served as a Florida Baptist Associational Music Director, and Evangelism coordinator.

Pastor Wayne loves to laugh, read, and spend time with family. Camping and Fishing are among his favorite getaways. His passion is to see people come to a closer relationship with God and develop into true disciples of Christ. He believes in the power of prayer and the leadership of the Holy Spirit above all else.
